The Lansing Community Library is excited to present Wish You Were Here: A Memorial in Pictures and Poetry, the debut exhibition of local artist Michelle Verost.
Born and raised in central Pennsylvania, Michelle is a digital photographer and aspiring poet whose work is deeply rooted in her love of the outdoors. From childhood walks with her grandfather to countless hours spent on local woodland trails, nature has always been her place of solace, reflection, and inspiration.
This moving collection combines photography and haiku to explore themes of memory, grief, and beauty. Inspired by the loss of her father, Michelle captures striking moments in nature and pairs them with poetry that gives voice to love, longing, and healing. Wish You Were Here is both a celebration of life’s fleeting beauty and a tribute to those we carry in our hearts.
Michelle’s hope is that viewers not only find her images and words beautiful, but also feel a sense of connection—that in shared experiences of grief and joy, none of us are truly alone.
This is Michelle’s debut exhibition, and we are thrilled to share it with our community. Learn more about Michell’s show here.
