Chair Yoga with Yoga Shasta and Lifelong

Classes will be held on Monday from 10:00 -11:00 AM downstairs in the Lansing Community Library. Classes are free and open to the general public. Suggested donation $5.

Please wear loose, comfortable clothing.

Chair Yoga promotes balance, flexibility, coordination, and reduces pain. Chair Yoga is also known to lower the risk of falls, increase energy levels, enhance sleep, and reduce stress and anxiety.Chair Yoga will dissolve tension, increase your strength, cardiovascular fitness, and leave you with a greater awareness, calmness, and overall sense of wholeness.

Yoga Shasta: When Shasta first started practicing yoga, she didn’t realize it would become such an integral part of her journey. She completed her RYT-200 in 2018 with a firm commitment to instructing classes that are equitable and inclusive through a trauma-informed lens. In 2020, she became a Certified Accessible Yoga Teacher. With intentions of meeting people exactly where they are, Shasta has led yoga and mindfulness classes in partnership with organizations such as the Ithaca Youth Bureau, Hospice, NAMI Finger Lakes, Syracuse University Graduate School and Vida Asana School of Yoga in Costa Rica. In her free time, she enjoys baking, hiking and spending time with her sweet pup, Melo.
