Landscapes & Letters | Art by Brenna O’Toole
Explore the beauty of art, nature, and language at Lansing Community Library’s November and December art exhibition featuring Ithaca artist Brenna O’Toole. A landscape painter and professional calligrapher, Brenna brings together soft pastel landscapes and expressive calligraphy inspired by the natural world, changing light, and the beauty of the written word.
Her collection pairs paintings and lettering to create a unique connection between landscapes and literature. Working primarily in soft pastels, Brenna captures the subtle beauty of cloudscapes, reflections, and the changing light of nature. Her calligraphy draws inspiration from our shared literary history, using a variety of styles to evoke different emotions.
Brenna holds a BA in Fine Art, has studied calligraphy with renowned instructors, and teaches calligraphy workshops throughout the Ithaca area. She works from her private studio in Ithaca and has exhibited her artwork at galleries and venues throughout New York State.
